We remember today the words of our savior, Jesus Christ: “Greater love has no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.”

Almighty and eternal God, from whom all blessings flow, accept our prayers and thanksgivings for your servant Ken.

Give us, we pray, grateful hearts for the courageous willingness of our veterans to enter into danger on our behalf. In your mercy, bind up the injured, and replenish the spirits of those wounded in body or soul. Help us to honor and serve those who have served in our name.

Lord God of hosts, who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, watch over and protect the airmen of our country.Give them courage as they face the foe, and skill in the performance of their duty. Sustain them with your everlasting arms. May your hand lead them, and your right hand uphold them, that they may return to the earth with a grateful sense of your mercy.

All this we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
