Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God; everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. (1 John 4:7)

Almighty God, whose Son Jesus Christ in his earthly life shared our toil and hallowed our labor: Be present with your people where they work; make those who carry on the industries and commerce of this land responsive to your will; and give to us all a pride in what we do, and a just return for our labor.

Almighty and eternal God, from whom all blessings flow, accept our prayers and thanksgivings for your servant Courtney .

Give us, we pray, grateful hearts for the courageous willingness of our neighbors to enter into danger on our behalf. In your mercy, bind up the injured, and replenish the spirits of those wounded in body or soul. Help us to honor and serve those who have served in our name.

All this we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
